ISLAMABAD, March 26 (Diplomatic Star): Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, on Wednesday reiterated Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling upon the global community to unite against occupation and oppression.

Addressing an Iftar dinner held in connection with International Quds Day, observed annually on the last Friday of Ramazan, the Iranian envoy emphasized that the day symbolizes Muslim unity in support of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.

“International Quds Day, designated in 1979 by the late founder of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA), serves as a powerful reminder of the continued struggle of Palestinians against occupation,” Dr. Moghaddam stated.

Condemnation of Violence in Gaza

Dr. Moghaddam condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, attributing it to what he described as the aggression of the Zionist regime. He accused certain global powers of backing policies that have resulted in mass civilian casualties.

“Over the past year and a half, the relentless attacks on Gaza have resulted in the martyrdom of more than 55,000 innocent children, women, and men. These assaults have also led to large-scale displacement and the destruction of vital infrastructure,” he said.

He criticized the recent prisoner exchanges, labeling them as false narratives propagated by the occupying forces.

“The resilience of the Palestinian resistance remains unbroken. Resistance against occupation is a legitimate right, and history has shown that struggles for freedom only strengthen in the face of oppression,” he added.

Regional Tensions and Israel’s Policies

The Iranian envoy further accused Israel of escalating regional tensions through military actions in Gaza and Yemen, asserting that such actions are meant to divert attention from what he called the strategic failure of the occupation.

“Iran has always stood for peace and justice, yet the ongoing violence in Palestine shows how some powers continue to shield Israel from accountability. The world must speak up against these crimes,” he stressed.

Pakistan’s Stance on Palestine Praised

Dr. Moghaddam commended Pakistan’s steadfast support for Palestinian rights, recognizing its principled stance against oppression.

“Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Palestine serves as a beacon of hope for justice. We deeply appreciate the solidarity expressed by the government and the people of Pakistan in standing with the Palestinian cause,” he said.

He also reiterated the need for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state through democratic elections with the full participation of all indigenous Palestinian residents.

“International Quds Day is more than a commemoration. It is a global movement against occupation, mass killings, and discrimination, advocating for the restoration of Palestinian rights,” he emphasized.

Senator Mushahid Hussain’s Remarks

Taking part in the discussion, Senator Mushahid Hussain congratulated Iran for reaching the final of the World Cup to be held in the USA. He paid rich tribute to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Imam Khamenei, for his principled stance on Palestine.

“Iran and Pakistan face similar challenges, including extremism, terrorism, and economic difficulties. Despite these hardships, our nations share a deep-rooted bond of brotherhood and cooperation,” the senator noted.

He further stated that both Israel and India act as fascist states in their respective regions, accusing them of pursuing territorial expansionist policies.

Call for Global Unity

Other speakers at the event emphasized the significance of International Quds Day as a symbol of global solidarity against oppression. They called for Muslim unity and collective action to amplify the call for a just resolution to the Palestinian crisis.

“The Palestinian issue is not just a regional crisis—it is a global humanitarian concern that requires urgent attention from the international community,” they stressed.

Dr. Moghaddam concluded by urging Muslim nations and justice-seekers worldwide to stand in solidarity and actively participate in International Quds Day, amplifying the demand for Palestinian rights and justice.
