ISLAMABAD, Feb 27 (Diplomatic Star ): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy Islamabad Saturday organized a mini Marathon to eulogizes the services rendered by the frontline workers during Covid-19 pandemic here in Diplomatic Enclave.
A large number of athletes from deferent nationalities and Ambassadors of different countries and representatives of diplomatic community were participated in the race.
The Marathon was organized by the Embassy of UAE Islamabad in collaboration with Bank Al Falah, Ufone and Gerry’s companies.
The UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi, said that remarkable participations in the Mini Marathon (5-8 km) from all walk of life reflects the respect for healthcare professionals, and appreciation to the frontline warriors across the globe for their vital and decisive role in containing the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Al Zaabi stressed on the necessity to stay united against all the challenges
to wolrd and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to assist and support the efforts of
Government of Pakistan and International community to contain the Covid-19.
He said that the UAE was among the first countries to provide the brotherly people of Pakistan with medical aids and preventive items through multiple flights and the UAE Embassy successfully accomplished “hygiene campaign to prevent educational institutions from Covid-19 pandemic last year.
