    By Raja Aamir Mahmood Bhatti

PARIS, June 9, Diplomatic Star (DS): The government’s Roshan Digital Account scheme has turned out to be a reliable platform for overseas Pakistanis including the diaspora in France, to securely invest their hard-earned money in Pakistan.

At a webinar held on Roshan Digital Account, the Pakistan embassy in Paris in collaboration with Meezan Bank provided information to the members of the Pakistani community living in France.

Senior officials of State Bank of Pakistan, Central Depositary Company of Pakistan and Meezan Bank explained the modalities related to the Roshan Digital Accounts and also responded to queries.

The participants were assured that the investment done in Roshan Digital Accounts was secure and also Shariah compliant.

It was told that upon completion of formalities, the account becomes activated within 48 hours and the banks carry out monitoring of the accounts on 24/7 basis.

Under the Roshan Digital Accounts, the funds could be deposited from abroad and withdrawn from Pakistan. Also, the funds at any time can be repatriated out of Pakistan.

In his remarks during the webinar, Charge d’Affaires Amjad Aziz Qazi said the government had won the hearts of the overseas Pakistanis by taking the initiative of Roshan Digital Accounts.

He said the members of the Pakistani community in France for long had been looking for means to securely invest in Pakistan, which had become a reality after the launch of Roshan Digital Account scheme.
