Various events to be held on account of International Women’s Day

    ISLAMABAD, Mar 7 (Diplomatic Star): Contribution of women and the significant role they play in nation building to be celebrated through events here on account of International Women’s Day by various organizations.

    The National Freelance Training Program will be hosting a live panel discussion online on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on its official Facebook page .

    The topic of the webinar will be women empowerment where leading female speakers will be sharing their journey and provide guidance to aspiring change makers.

    Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold a two-day “Women Entrepreneurs Exhibition” on March 11-12 at its Export Display Center to support the handmade works of local female entrepreneurs. The female-led brands will also be given the opportunity to connect with banks, which will provide relevant information to the stall vendors.

    Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has joined hands with ‘Atomcamp’ for promotion and empowerment of home-based female entrepreneurs through its 2nd Wecamp festival to be held at F-9 Park on March 12-13.

    The open air festivity will kick off at noon and conclude at 8 p.m. on both days. Other partners who are participating in this cause are UK Aid, Adam Smith International, Islamabad Capital Territory Police, Bank of Punjab, Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mid City Housing among others.

    Talking to Diplomatic Star, Wecamp Manager Naheed Ali shared, “In the first Wecamp festival last year, 100 women entrepreneurs participated, and this time we are expecting around 200”.

    “It is to support local crafts and the women in business”, she added further.

    The gala will feature works of homespun brands offering a wide variety of products including delicacies of multicultural and international cuisines, clothing, jewelery, stationery, bedding, skincare items and more.

    Prominent dignitaries including Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat are expected to attend this weekend gala.

    Whereas, on 8th March, Smart Circle Pakistan will celebrate this international day for females via a small session, which will start at 3 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.

    The entry to the discourse requires registration and payment of a fee of Rs. 1000.

    According to founders of the support group Safirah and Amer “Tomorrow’s session will be about inheritance and the issues women face regarding it. Participants will also have the chance to share their stories and be heard.”

    “There will be food and drinks, which are optional. Everyone orders according to their budget” she said.
    This exclusive club is run by females mostly who hold multiple meetings each month for personal and professional development of various individuals particularly youth and women.
