LAHORE, March 17 (Diplomatic Star): A free medical camp and iftar were organized for the orphans of Pakistan Sweet Home under the auspices of Meri Pehchan Welfare Foundation.

The event aimed to provide quality healthcare, spread happiness, and create a sense of belonging among the children.

The initiative was led by Professor Dr. Naveed Iqbal, Head of the Urology Department and Transplant Unit at Jinnah Hospital, along with a team of dedicated medical professionals.

The children underwent thorough medical check-ups, and free, high-quality medicines were provided to ensure their well-being.

Specialists from different fields, including Dr. Jahangir, an eye specialist, as well as skin specialists, general physicians, and medical students from UCMD, actively participated in examining and treating the children.

The medical camp was set up to address the various health issues faced by orphans, many of whom lack regular medical attention.

The doctors ensured that every child received a comprehensive check-up, and those requiring follow-up treatments were provided with necessary recommendations.

The distribution of free medicines was a major highlight, as it relieved the children from the burden of accessing costly medical care.

Beyond medical care, the event also focused on mental and emotional well-being. A painting activity was arranged, allowing the children to express themselves creatively.

The initiative encouraged them to explore their imagination and develop a sense of confidence. Volunteers guided the children through the activity, making the experience both educational and entertaining.

A Commitment to Orphans’ Welfare

Speaking on the occasion, President of Meri Pehchan Welfare Foundation, Ms. Shahida Naveed, emphasized the importance of supporting orphans and ensuring that they feel cared for. “Orphans always long for someone to care for them and be with them.

We try to organize a program for these children every month so they never feel alone,” she said.

Ms. Naveed highlighted that the foundation has always prioritized orphans’ well-being by not only providing them with basic necessities but also ensuring that they have opportunities to participate in enriching activities.

“Our goal is to instill a strong spirit of service among volunteers so they continue working for humanity. Meri Pehchan Welfare Foundation will remain committed to serving the children of Pakistan Sweet Home,” she added.

She further stressed the importance of collective efforts in making a difference in these children’s lives. “Every child deserves love, care, and attention.

It is our responsibility as a society to support them in every possible way. Our volunteers are an integral part of this mission, and their dedication is truly commendable,” she stated.

The event saw active participation from volunteers who played a crucial role in making the program a success. From assisting doctors in managing the medical camp to engaging with children during the painting activity, their contributions were invaluable.

The volunteers ensured that every child felt special and cared for throughout the event.

One of the volunteers, Fatima, shared her experience, saying, “Spending time with these children was an incredibly fulfilling experience. Seeing the smiles on their faces made every effort worth it. I believe that small acts of kindness can create a huge impact.”

Another volunteer, Ali, expressed his commitment to the cause, stating, “This was my first time volunteering at an event like this, and I was deeply moved.
