ISLAMABAD, Aug 12 (Diplomatic Star): National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the strong and friendly relationship between Pakistan and Belarus, highlighting their shared commitment to global peace and sustainable development.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan, Andrei Metelitsa, at the Parliament on Monday.
Sadiq stressed the importance of deepening political, cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections between the two countries for the mutual benefit of their citizens.
During their discussion, both sides covered a range of regional and global developments and agreed on the need for ongoing collaboration to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new areas of engagement.
The speaker particularly emphasized the role of parliamentary cooperation, advocating for regular interactions between the parliaments of both nations. He suggested that parliamentary friendship groups and the exchange of parliamentary delegations could be valuable tools for sharing experiences and learning from each other.
Ambassador Metelitsa expressed his gratitude for the speaker’s positive remarks and reaffirmed Belarus’s view of Pakistan as a key regional partner. He expressed a strong desire to further strengthen ties in all areas of mutual interest, particularly through enhanced parliamentary and cultural exchanges.
